Validation of an equine fitness tracker: heart rate and heart rate variability

چکیده

The adoption of fitness tracker devices to monitor training in the equine market is full expansion. However, validity most these has not been assessed. aim this study was examine heart rate (HR) and variability (HRV) measurements during high-intensity exercise by an integrated with electrocardiogram (ECG) (Equimetre) comparison ECG device (Televet). Twenty Thoroughbred racehorses were equipped two completed a session at track. Data from 18 horses readable be analysed. Equimetre HR compared Televet derived corrected ECG. HRV parameters computed dedicated software (Kubios) on uncorrected manually both devices, data. recorded entire calculated recovery periods. A strong correlation between data found (Pearson correlation: r=0.992, P <0.001; root mean square error = 4.06 bpm). For HRV, good for all when comparing (Lin’s coefficient 0.998). When obtained data, still 0.995) but poor, except triangular index 0.995). equally poor <0.9). In conclusion, satisfies criteria monitoring high intensity exercise. using it provides accurate as well.

تغییرپذیری ضربان قلب Heart rate variability))

Abstract Many studies have been conducted on heart rate variability. Variability in the heart signal of two sequential beats is called heart rate variability (HRV). Short- and long- term variability reflects autonomic nervous system function, so that increased or decreased heart rate variability (HRV) is an indicator of human health. So, the analysis of these changes can predict sudden death...

A comparison between heart rate and heart rate variability as indicators of cardiac health and fitness

Quantification of cardiac autonomic activity and control via heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) is known to provide prognostic information in clinical populations. Issues with regard to standardization and interpretation of HRV data make the use of the more easily accessible HR on its own as an indicator of autonomic cardiac control very appealing. The aim of this study was to inv...

Circadian rhythm of heart rate and heart rate variability.

BACKGROUND Measurements of heart rate variability (HRV) are increasingly used as markers of cardiac autonomic activity. AIM To examine circadian variation in heart rate and HRV in children. SUBJECTS A total of 57 healthy infants and children, aged 2 months to 15 years, underwent ambulatory 24 hour Holter recording. Monitoring was also performed on five teenagers with diabetes mellitus and s...

Heart rate variability and heart rate recovery as prognostic factors

BACKGROUND AND AIM Heart rate (HR) can appear static and regular at rest, during exercise or recovery after exercise. However, HR is constantly adjusted due to factors such as breathing, blood pressure control, thermoregulation and the renin-angiotensin system, leading to a more dynamic response that can be quantified using HRV (heart rate variability). HRV is defined as the deviation in time b...
